“Are You Ready To Encounter The IRS?”
The Probate Process Requires Meeting With The Probate Judge, IRS, Welfare Agencies And The Revenue Department
We are and we can help.
Probate proceedings require dealing with several local and national government officials.
The first government administration involves the probate court clerks and judge. The correct petitions and procedures must be done to satisfy these officials.
The IRS must be contacted to obtain an identification number for the probate file and, in certain cases, to file an estate tax return.
The welfare agencies must be dealt with to arrange for the payment of any Medicare claims or, at the very least, to obtain a clearance certificate that no reimbursement to the agencies is owed.
The revenue department and the IRS may also be looking for tax returns from the deceased person. This is a responsibility of the executor or personal representative.
Many people who are family members or heirs may be anxious to get the deceased person’s affairs completed. However, the family may not want to have to deal with the public agencies and officials.
Our job is to deal with these government representatives and help guide you through the tasks that need to be done with the government.
We want to make the probate experience to be accomplished for you as fast, economical and worry-free as possible for our clients.
